DAASV/DCGSF Mini-Reumion 94/95/96 2/6/10

A Mini-Reunion for the classes of '94, '95, '96 was arranged by Dartmouth Club of Silicon Valley and Dartmouth Club of Greater San Francisco the evening of 2/6/2010. For the occasion, the top floor of the University Club was reserved for getting together and hearing a lecture by recently retired Dartmouth Professor of Shakespearean Studies, Peter Saccio on the subject of Oscar Wilde.

The evening began with a social time for people to arrive, greet each other, and have cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. A brief photo event, capturing the members of the classes present, preceded the lecture. After the presentation there was a brief Q&A session, and then the socializing continued.

David helped to set up a photo spot in the Library of the University Club.
The University Club is at the intersection of two cable car lines, Powell and California, on top of Nob Hill.
James von Rittman '95, President of DAASV, is greeting arriving alum's and guests. There was a choice of walking up to the fourth floor or taking the ancient, creaking cage elevator to the top to be greeted.
The excellent bar, next to the game room, was appropriately decorated.
The view from the balcony just outside the meeting room was excellent.
While there had been some rain earlier in the day, the weather was improving in the evening, making the viewing great. This is the nifty decoration at 505 Montgomery Street.
Our speaker, Professor Saccio, and others prepared themselves for a full evening ahead.
A light snack was provided, and greatly appreciated.

After the Class photo shoot, James introduced some local Dartmouth and Dartmouth Outing Club participants.
Justin, Jake, and James, all '95. Justin represented the Dartmouth Outing Club of Northern California. Jake discussed the importance of maximizing the percentage of Dartmouth graduates making contributions to the Dartmouth Development funds, as it helps get support for the College.
A good sized group had turned out for the event.
Finally, Professor Saccio was introduced, and he began his presentation.
