Admit Party for Dartmouth Class of 14 4/18/10

On April 18, 2010, students who applied to Dartmouth College and were admitted from the Silicon Valley and San Francisco Peninsula areas were invited to meet each other and have an information session at the home of Jeff Crowe in Atherton, CA. Also in attendance were recent graduates from Dartmouth College and parents of recent students. While this was the largest such gathering the two District Enrollment Directors, Jeff Crowe and Linda Swenberg, had hosted, it was still possible to ask questions and find out more about the College. Many of the students were planning to attend Dimensions at Dartmouth, a program that lets newly admitted students spend some time with current students and get to know the school and the campus.

  • Conversations began immediately, even before entering the door. Classmates greeting each other, parents talking with parents, new admits meeting potential classmates.

  • Here are more of the young alums on the stairs. The information flowed freely, and, after questions ran out, conversations continued until late in the night. You could say there was a lot of interest.

  • Colleen Wearn, the Admissions Officer responsible for selecting the students admitted in Northern California, payed a surprise visit to the event, welcoming the newly admitted students to Dartmouth. She was delighted to see many of the students she had personally reviewed at the event.
