NASA Ames Wind Tunnel Test 2007
This series of photos was taken during a modal test of a mass simulator article on the force balance of the transonic test section of the Nasa Ames Research Center Unitary Plan Wind Tunnel. Two configurations were evaluated, a high positive angle of attack and a small negative angle of attack. The shiny cylindar is the mass simulator for the test article, and the small devices with wires attached are the accelerometers used to measure the motion when the mass simulator is struck with an instrumented hammer. Data from the sensors were taken using a Spectral Dynamics Cougar system and a notebook computer running CATS Modal software.
