MGSCC Harvest Festival Party 11/7/09

The Master Gardeners of Santa Clara County held a Harvest Festival Party at Shari and John Levitt's home in the East Hills of San Jose, CA. Fortunately, most of us parked at a church parking lot and rode a shuttle bus up the hill to the event. The meal was a giant pot luck event.

There were several things going on during the event, including musical performances, dancing, and information displays of some of the Master Gardener related activities during the year.

We started out in a church parking lot on McKee, waiting for the (surprisingly large) shuttle bus.
"Our Leader" and spouse.
Apparently some of the guests had arrived before us and were already hammered.
The venue had a wonderful creek setting between the house and the pool area, up the hill.
There were many exhibits, sharing different Master Gardener interests.
As with most Master Gardener events, the appetizers were exceptional in their quality and variety.
The first choice was between large and small plates. From there the decisions became more difficult.

I was unaware of the important contribution a variety of excellent tequila could make to the BBQ process.
The tri-tip roasts are done, so it's time to clean up for the chicken and veggies.
An excellent plan was to use the shuttle bus to minimize parking problems and transport the party goers. The latest group arrives.

This is the house of a gardener, so it was important to visit the garden.
