Bringing Back the Natives Garden Tour 5/6/2007

We went to the East Bay to view some of the gardens in the 2007 Bringing Back the Natives Garden Tour on 5/6/2007. Many of the photos include the label with plant variety, if viewed at original size. We also visited the UC Berkeley California Native Bee Garden (see separate gallery).

From the driveway area you pass this attractive grapevine. A sloping walk leads up to the west-facing deck in front of the windows with a great view.

The house is well above the street, and the hill continues steeply above the house on the south side. There are several deck areas, all with excellent views. The information desk was very well sited.
This is the view from the house, looking out the windows to the west and the Golden Gate. There was a very old, corroded tripod on the covered deck that had obviously been very well used.

The view is mostly trees, then the lower part of Berkeley and the San Francisco Bay.
From the house back deck you can see part of the hillside garden above the swimming pool.
