MINI of SF Rally and Cowboy Hoedown 8/19/12

Early on 8/19/12, lots of MINI owners met at MINI of San Francisco to celebrate their 10th MINI Rally and trek to Lake Sonoma, CA. We toured the dealership, got ourselves appropriately equipped for the Cowboy Hoedown, contributed funds to the CHP Widows and Orphans Trust, hopped in our cars, and drove north out of the city. Some time later, after startling all the 101 drivers with so many MINIs, we wandered through the vineyards to Lake Sonoma. Lots of recreation, including canoes and kayaks, lots of great BBQ food, games, and a generous raffle made for a full day. Thanks, MINI of San Francisco!

We have several of these Isettas in our neighborhood.

Cute little feller...a friend and I blueprinted one of these motors as part of his beefing up his Classic Mini - when we were still actively rallying it.
We all got a good briefing about the Rally before we started out.
The history of previous Rallys and of the dealership were discussed.
All lined up, the MINIs were waiting to go.
MINI of SF decorated this Clubman Van with San Francisco scenes and the new MINI dealership location - coming soon.
We traveled up 101 to turn off through the vineyards and ended up at Lake Sonoma.
Someone was here ahead of us getting everything ready.
It was a warm day, but the venue looked very inviting.
Horseshoes and Volleyball were among the available games.
Lunch was well received - the food was great.
The company was great, too! An excellent event. Many of us took canoe and kayak rides around the lake after lunch.
